Local Brewmasters Harness the Benefits of Barrels for A Slew of New Brews
Biscayne Bay Brewing is proud to announce four seasonal, limited releases for the month of November using a variety of barrel-aging techniques including Rum, Bourbon, and Whiskey barrels. The following craft beers will be available throughout the month of November at Biscayne Bay Brewing’s Tap Room located at 8000 NW 25th Street Miami, FL.
LA SALIDA: Bourbon Barrel Aged IPA
La Salida, being the first move in a domino game, is their first barrel release. It is a blend of the Miami Pale Ale and Double Nine Double IPA aged in Breckenridge Bourbon barrels for six (6) months. With immediate notes of Bourbon, La Salida is a great choice for the beer connoisseur and whiskey lover alike.
EL CARIBE: English Porter Aged in Caribbean Rum Barrel
El Caribe reflects the vast flavors of the tropical sea adjacent to Biscayne Bay. The brewers start with our “La Colada” English Style Porter with notes of Cuban coffee, and age it in Cruzan Rum Barrels from the Island of Curacao. The tradition of infusing the flavor of these spirits into beer dates back centuries. The result is a delicious aged porter that is rich in flavor and depth.
EL ROBLE: American Whiskey Aged Scotch Ale
El Roble, meaning “The Oak,” is a single malt, single hop Scotch Ale. The beer is aged in one time use Stranahan Whiskey Barrels from Colorado for a period of four (4) months. The barrel aging conveys a very familiar whiskey aroma and toffee sweetness into the ale.
BUENAS NOCHES: American Whiskey Aged Imperial Stout
Buenas Noches, or “Good Night,” is a phrase used when ending your evening. This beer is the perfect night cap with its robust flavor profile coming from chocolate and roasted malts. A three (3) month aging in Stranahan Whiskey barrels lends subtle notes of vanilla and oak that are balanced with hoppy bitterness, resulting in a balanced, full- bodied Imperial Stout.
